This insert turns an existing masonry or manufactured fireplace into a heating unit - with a steady state efficiency of up to 85%. No electricity is required to light or operate the unit, as its millivolt system ensures reliable use.

The unit comes with a millivolt remote ready natural gas valve with adjustable flame and heat control that easily converts to LP. It also comes with a hinged, high-heat ceramic glass door, "Phazer" logs and embers, and a heat circulating blower with variable speed control and thermodisc on/off switch. It has a double flame stainless steel burner and a piezo ignitor. It is rated up to 24,500 BTU's.

Control options include a thermostatic remote control, an on/off remote control, or a millivolt wall thermostat. The unit is approved for bathrooms, bedrooms, and sitting rooms. A variety of surround kits are available.

The GDI-30N uses two 3" aluminum liners, requiring an existing flue of at least 7" interior diameter. For 6" interior flues, call for a neccessary, special order venting kit. The liners can be up to 35' long. Minimum fireplace opening is 28"w X 21 3/4"h X 18"d.
